ROLE: Purchase Ledger Clerk

HOURS: 8am to 5pm

LOCATION: Stevenage

We're looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join JCA (a part of Mitie) who will maintain accurate purchase ledger records in line with JCA accounting standards and support the wider finance team.

• Maintain accurate purchase ledger records as per JCA accounting standards and timetable
• Assist in maintaining treasury operations, maintaining standards and escalating where appropriate
• Collaborate with the finance team by providing help and coverage during busy month-end periods
• Accurate and timely processing of purchase ledger invoices
• Ensure invoices are approved according to the company authority matrix
• Deal with supplier queries
• Liaise with business stakeholders to resolve invoice queries and ensure timely approval
• Monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts
• Provide cover for the Purchase Ledger Supervisor, including weekly pay run and CIS
• Produce ad‑hoc reporting and provide support to business stakeholders

• Minimum of 2 years' previous purchase ledger experience
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills and confident telephone manner
• Basic Excel knowledge
• Effective time management
• Ability to think ahead, plan, and prioritise workload
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to build professional working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
• A positive approach with determination to succeed
• Industry-specific knowledge in Engineering or Building Services
• Previous experience with Pegasus Opera Accounting Software and Microsoft Dynamics
• Knowledge of CIS
