Overview

We are seeking a Finance professional to provide maternity cover within our finance team. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing Finance Manager during a comprehensive handover period, including at least two full month‑end cycles.

This role would suit an experienced Finance Executive or an Assistant Finance Manager who is confident working autonomously and enjoys being involved in the detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Running Sage Payroll accurately and efficiently
  • Supporting monthly management accounts and month‑end close
  • Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining and updating Excel‑based financial reports
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Supporting day‑to‑day finance operations and ad hoc finance tasks

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience using Sage Payroll (essential)
  • Strong Excel skills (comfortable with formulas and data manipulation)
  • Solid all‑round finance experience
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to pick up processes quickly and work independently
  • Experience at Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager level
  • Experience in a small to medium‑sized business

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: £35,000.00-£37,500 per year
