We are looking for a highly capable Project Delivery Engineer to join our team at the GSK UK R&D hub at Stevenage (Hertfordshire, UK). Reporting to the Engineering Director for Europe.
The purpose of this role is to act as delivery engineer across the regional Capital Infrastructure portfolio and to coordinate performance improvements across the region to the R&D sites in Europe (Stevenage, Harlow and Addenbrookes (UK), Berlin and Heidelberg (Germany), Tres Cantos (Spain), and Siena (Italy)) to provide programme optimisation, governance and solutions.
You will lead and deliver capital and improvement projects that keep our sites safe, compliant and productive. You will coordinate and collaborate with a highly talented Chartered engineering multidisciplinary team and our capital partner utilizing matrix management skills to support strategic projects and programmes, ensuring efficient capital project execution is monitored and accurate across the stage gates.

Key Responsibilities- Lead project delivery from initiation to handover, focusing on cost, schedule and risk control.
- Prepare project documents such as business cases, user requirement specifications, and project charters.
- Coordinate design reviews, safety and quality assessments, commissioning and validation activities.
- Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring work meets technical, safety and quality standards.
- Use operational data to identify improvement opportunities and propose technically sound solutions.
- Support site governance forums by presenting project plans, progress and risks.
This position is located at our UK R&D hub at Stevenage (Hertfordshire).
About YouThe successful applicant must have in-depth practical knowledge/experience of Engineering Projects, ideally gained from working in a highly regulated industry. You will be solution-orientated in your approach, with strong interpersonal skills suited to building working relationships across multiple stakeholder groups in a complex interdisciplinary matrix environment. You will be resilient, resourceful and accountable as well as having a strong process-driven approach and continuous improvement mindset.

Basic Qualifications- Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification or proven equivalent experience.
- Experience delivering capital projects in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
- Practical knowledge of project controls: planning, budgeting and risk management.
- Experience managing contractors and third-party suppliers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to quickly analyse complicated issues and identify and implement effective process solutions.
- Ability to analyse and prepare data for reporting purposes, track project performance, and develop actionable insights for leadership.
- Experience with commissioning and validation activities in a regulated industry.
- Familiarity with heavy utilities, HVAC, automation or process equipment.
- Experience preparing investment proposals and supporting capital planning.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, safety studies and constructability reviews.
- Previous experience working in pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing.
