Senior Configuration Engineer – Stevenage

Our client has an opportunity for a Senior Configuration Engineer on an initial 12‑month contract. As the Senior Configuration Engineer you will support the Configuration Manager of any given project, including responsibility for product definition and/or configuration management of a minor project or major parts of a project.

• Reflect engineering input through the engineering change process into the design definition/structure, utilising the PLM tool Windchill.
• Manage, on behalf of the project, the correct design definitions for potentially multiple product variants and implement engineering changes against the appropriate instances.
• Review engineering changes for the project to ensure the business process is applied and the approbation controls laid out by projects are adhered to, accepting or rejecting changes as appropriate.
• Provide draft Configuration Management document updates to the project Configuration Manager ahead of the appropriate review period.
• Prepare for Configuration Meetings comprehensively and promptly, providing data to the Configuration Manager and project team against agreed timescales.
• Ensure control of project design definitions is adhered to across development, production and in‑service phases, providing comprehensive status accounting information to the customer.
• Maintain working relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the focal point of contact for day‑to‑day activities with project and engineering teams.
• Support and guide project areas with applicable engineering change methodologies appropriate to the product or equipment lifecycle, ensuring processes are documented and in practice.

• Experience with PLM tool Windchill.
