A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineering Lead to join a specialist Systems Engineering function supporting complex, multi-national defence programmes.
This role performs the duties of a senior technical lead position and works closely with programme leadership and engineering stakeholders across the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote, develop and embed best practice Systems Engineering processes, methods and tools across Data Link Systems programmes
- Provide consultancy-style Systems Engineering support tailored to individual programme needs
- Drive consistency and efficiency in Systems Engineering approaches across UK projects
- Support programmes through all lifecycle phases, from early concept through development, transition and delivery
- Influence Systems Engineering approaches for new business and established programmes
- Provide education, coaching and mentoring to develop Systems Engineering capability within teams
- Assess and improve application of core Systems Engineering techniques across projects
- Shape systems architecture and ensure full lifecycle considerations are embedded into designs
- Collaborate with internal partners and international stakeholders to align Systems Engineering processes and ways of working
The ideal candidate would have:
- Broad Systems Engineering experience across the full system lifecycle
- Exposure to major, complex engineering programmes
- Experience applying modern and emerging Systems Engineering methods
- Stakeholder management experience across multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience supporting and developing colleagues in a technical environment
The ideal candidate must have:
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering architecture and design principles
- Practical experience implementing MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) approaches
- Ability to work autonomously, proactively and manage multiple priorities concurrently
- Experience influencing programme-level engineering approaches and decision making
