Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer
ASSYST is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the development of complex, high‑scale web applications for our upcoming project with our federal client in Sterling, VA.
As a senior member of the team, the candidate will be responsible for defining technical strategy, architecting robust systems, and driving engineering excellence through mentorship and best practices.
Please Note: Due to federal contract requirements, this position is restricted to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
Job Location:
Sterling, VA (Onsite)
- 5–8+ years in full‑stack development with expertise across frontend and backend
- Proven experience leading projects or mentoring team members
- Proficiency in frontend frameworks:
React, Angular, Vue - Strong backend development skills with Node.js, Python, Java, Spark
- Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java Script
- Expertise in REST/Graph
QL API design - Hands‑on experience with Open Shift, Kubernetes, and Data Bricks
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable web applications
- Knowledge of SQL/No
SQL databases, caching strategies, and authentication mechanisms - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to code quality, documentation, and agile practices
- Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and Dev Ops practices
- Specialization in performance optimization, security, or mobile/web hybrid applications
