Entry Level Software Developer

Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats.  We are seeking a motivated and talented Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our team. This is an onsite position, requiring the employee to work at our designated office location.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software engineering principles and a passion for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Design, develop, document, test, and debug control and diagnostic systems.
* Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers to plan and develop electronic data processing systems.
* Analyze system capabilities to determine end-user needs and resolve program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition.
* Ensure compliance with hardware and software standards.
* Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development and use.
* Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use, as needed.
* Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and software quality standards, as applicable.
* Contribute to control modeling (model-based design).

* Qualifications:

*** The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

* Education:

*** Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent experience.

* Experience:

*** Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Certifications:

** The candidate may possess one or more of the following certifications:
* Microsoft Certified:
Azure Fundamentals
* AWS Certified Developer – Associate
* Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE Programmer
* CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+)
* Software development methodology certification (e.g. SCRUM Master) highly desired.
* Git Hub or Git Lab Certifications

*** This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to periodically work at our Nightwing Location (Sterling, VA).
