TRADE SCHOOL Entry Lvl​/lvl Cable Tech

Responsibilities

• Pull cable Assist Tech 2
• Run and handle materials
• Utilize hand and power tools
• Climb ladders
• Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices
• Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware)
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required
• Complete all IDC connections (e.g., terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels)
• Pull wires and/or oversee and direct conduit installations and wire pulling
• Operate tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)

• Cable

• Screwdriver (regular and Phillips)
• Drywall saw
• Torpedo level
• Tape measure
• Snips (with belt sheath)
• Pliers (needle nose and channel locks)
• Hammer
• Cable stripper
• Flashlight
• Gloves
• Able to lift 40 lbs
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency with the listed tools

Entry Level

Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling, VA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
