Overview
Position The Facilities Specialist is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational functions of our facilities, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and the smooth functioning of all infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance and repair, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects across various locations. This position requires extensive travel, up to three days per week, including overnight stays, and involves working closely with vendors, internal teams, and government entities.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the day-to-day maintenance of facilities, ensuring that all systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, small engine equipment) are functioning properly.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and state/local fire codes.
- Oversee facility repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
- Coordinate with vendors, internal and external customers, and local city and county departments to complete projects on time.
- Maintain organized records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
- Learn and stay up to date on zoning and occupancy standards, state building codes, and material storage regulations.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring completion within timelines and budgets.
- Travel extensively, up to three days per week, including overnight stays, to manage facilities across multiple sites.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
- Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and small engine equipment repairs.
- Willingness to learn about zoning and occupancy standards, state building codes, material storage, and fire codes.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and government agencies.
- Solid computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards is preferred.
- Prior experience in facilities management, lawn service, or similar industries.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating work with various stakeholders.
- Minimum Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to use computer keyboard and monitor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift approximately 50-75 lbs.
