Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Plumbing Mechanic to support commercial new construction projects. This role is responsible for the layout, installation, and testing of plumbing systems while ensuring all work meets applicable codes, safety standards, and quality expectations. The Plumbing Mechanic works independently or as part of a crew under the direction of a Foreman.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall water supply, drainage, and vent systems in new commercial buildings
Layout, assemble, and install piping systems, fixtures, and equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes
Cut, thread, groove, and bend pipe using appropriate tools and equipment
Install pipe hangers, supports, and sleeves
Perform pressure testing and inspections to ensure system integrity
Coordinate with Foremen, Project Managers, and other trades on-site
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
Follow all company policies and OSHA safety standards
3–5+ years of commercial plumbing experience, preferably in new construction
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and construction practices
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Reliable transportation and basic tool set
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Journeyman plumbing license a plus
Competitive pay based on experience
Opportunity to work on Prevailing Wage projects, which, when available, may offer hourly rates ranging from $60–$75 per hour, depending on project location and classification. Prevailing Wage work is project-dependent and not guaranteed for all assignments.
