As a Security Officer - Alarm Dispatch Desk in Sterling, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, you will monitor cameras and alarm panels, track activity in real time, and coordinate security‑related responses and communications. You will support routine patrols with clear radio and phone dispatch, document incidents using computer and/or tablet tools, and deliver a welcoming customer service experience.

What You'll Do
  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology‑focused location.
  • Operate the dispatch post by monitoring alarms, CCTV, and access control systems, documenting activity, and notifying appropriate personnel per post orders.
  • Receive and triage calls for service, incidents, and work requests, then coordinate responses with on‑site officers and/or client teams using radio, phone, and electronic systems.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, completing detailed reports and escalating issues according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and perimeter zones as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Minimum Requirements
  • Have at least 1+ years of security‑related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Have alarm panel experience, preferred.
  • Have CPR and/or First Aid, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
