TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Cabling Technician to support structured cabling and fiber installations in a data center or commercial environment. This technician will be responsible for fiber routing, rack-and-stack work, and maintaining clean, organized, and standards-compliant cabling infrastructure. The ideal candidate is flexible with scheduling and has strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Interpret cable maps, labeling systems, and technical documentation to ensure accurate routing and installation.
• Perform rack and stack of network and server equipment within racks and cabinets in accordance with site and industry standards.
• Pull, route, and stage fiber trunks, including high-count fiber (144-count and 288-count bundles).
• Install and manage fiber patch cords to support network connectivity.
• Dress and secure cabling to match designated pathway types such as basket tray or fiber runner systems.
• Maintain clean, organized, and standards-compliant cable installations.
• Follow safety guidelines and quality standards at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in data center or commercial cabling environments.
• Experience with structured cabling and fiber installation.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation and labeling standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work day or night shifts as required.
• Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in data center or telecommunications environments.
• Familiarity with industry cabling standards and best practices.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
