Data Center Technician

Job Overview

As an Amazon Data Center Technician you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues.

• Create and maintain documentation on supported technologies and effectively pass knowledge to junior staff.
• Perform basic to intermediate system administration tasks and manage remote admin work as needed.
• Automate tasks with scripts when necessary.
• Work autonomously to resolve most support issues.
• Execute small projects independently and collaborate with manager for larger local projects.
• Act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians.
• Understand all aspects of the equipment you support.
• Innovate and make independent decisions while following direction when given, paying attention to all details involved.

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function well under pressure with multiple priorities.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware and computer networking.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in cramped or elevated spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
• Some travel may be required.

• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Advanced understanding of computer hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills.

Entry Level.

Contract position based out of Sterling, VA.

Pay range: $23.50 - $26.00/hr.
