Job Description & How to Apply Below
Nightwing seeks a full-time Project Integrator (expert) to work in the Herndon, VA area in the Information Review and Release Division’s front office. The focus of the position shall be to triage the work of the sponsor’s Information Release Officers (IROs). The selected candidate shall work with the IROs and the Division’s branch offices to identify opportunities to complete and close Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) cases more quickly.
The number of incoming requests continues to grow and requires the Project Integrator to develop and provide improvements in efficiency.
The Project Integrator shall help the IROs achieve quick wins by identifying multiple cases on a similar topic and arranging for the IROs to review those cases back-to-back. This will significantly reduce the time needed to close multiple cases by following the same train of thought. The selected candidate must possess experience from assignments in two or more of the Sponsor’s Directorates in order to arrive with understanding of the sensitivities that are unique to the sponsor’s organizations.
This knowledge is necessary to ensure that each case gets assigned to the correct IRO. The Project Integrator also shall prioritize cases to be quickly closed that only have a small number of pages or documents to review and also prioritize cases that don’t require collaboration with other government agencies. The selected candidate shall possess key attributes: critical thinking, robust analysis experience and collaboration skills.
The successful candidate shall be an expert organizer with demonstrated experience handling and triaging large workloads for a staff of senior officers.
The candidate is not required to know how to review and redact classified documents, but they must have a good understanding and ability to recognize sensitive content that must remain protected. The successful candidate shall have completed several front office leadership assignments to demonstrate possession of the skills, tact and diplomacy vital to engagement with senior officers.
Time management and the ability to collaborate with other team members is a must. The selected candidate must be able to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work, and be willing and able to multi-task and perform ad hoc duties as needed. The successful candidate for this position will have multiple opportunities to explore their creative side and deliver process improvement ideas.
** Mandatory Skills/Requirements
** Must have at least 11 years of experience with our sponsor. Must be a driven self-starter who collaborates well with the Sponsor’s senior officers and has the ability to recommend and to adapt to new processes.
Must be a team player willing to collaborate and develop effective relationships with senior officers, colleagues and technical teams.
Must be skilled in time management with the ability to prioritize competing tasks in order to meet multiple deadlines.
Prior experience as an IRO, FOIA Case Manager/Reviewer, or Project Integrator is beneficial but not mandatory.
