OverviewAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers online. As a Data Center Project Engineer, you will help build industry‑leading data centers with a focus on energy efficiency, cost effectiveness, and reliable service.
Responsibilities- Establish communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders; provide dashboards for regional leadership.
- Request and review Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for detail, necessity, and risk.
- Onboard new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner‑furnished material to site.
- Compile and store construction data from vendors.
- Manage checklists, including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- 5+ years of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of construction or project management experience
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman license
- Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
