As a VDI Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted to engineer new and improved enhancements for existing and emerging virtual desktop technologies. A typical day will include:
- Engineering, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, securing and managing the full life cycle of the complex Citrix Xen Desktop and Net Scaler solutions deployed in the large Enterprise environment.
- Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid.
- Interacting with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations for problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Engineering, implementing, mitigating, monitoring, and tuning VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions.
- Managing Citrix products (Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, ADC, Provisioning).
- Managing Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops).
- Operating and executing scripting skills in Power Shell or Python.
- Providing Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)).
- Preparing and maintaining documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects.
- Must have High School Diploma and 10+ years of experience or Associate's degree and 8+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience.
- Must have an Active TS/SCI; willing to obtain a CI Poly.
- Experience performing engineering work associated with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of infrastructure for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies.
- Knowledge of Citrix Xen App, App Layering, and/or Enterprise Layer Manager (ELM).
- Hands‑on experience with SQL Clustering Failover.
- Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures.
- Expertise in the Windows 10/11 - Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
- Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022.
- Ability to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022.
