Accounting Manager​/Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our accounting department in Sterling, Virginia. This role involves managing key financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving improvements in systems and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of accrual accounting.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise the daily activities of the accounting team, including period-end closings, accounts receivable management, and medical claims accounting.

- Review and analyze financial data to prepare accurate reports and statements.

- Develop, implement, and uphold accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective measures.

- Assign tasks and manage team performance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

- Drive achievement of financial accounting goals and objectives.

- Maintain organized fiscal records to document all transactions effectively.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through clear communication.

- Perform additional duties as required to support the department's success. Requirements

- Proven experience in managing accounting operations and supervising teams.

- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles.

- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.

- Excellent ability to improve systems and implement corrective actions.

- Strong organizational skills for maintaining fiscal records and documentation.

- Effective communication skills to foster relationships with clients and stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Familiarity with healthcare or social assistance industry accounting practices is a plus.
