The primary duties of this position are located within 30 miles of the state border; therefore, this position is exempt from the residency requirements. Applications will be considered from residents and non-residents of Colorado. However, licensure through DORA at the State of Colorado is still required at the time of application.

Job OverviewThis position provides programmatic and administrative supervision of the Substance Use Disorder staff at the Therapeutic Community and the outpatient treatment program. This position will assist in the development and/or review of Substance Use Disorder therapeutic community treatment programs, provide Substance Use Disorder assessment and treatment services, and provide clinical and administrative supervision of Substance Use Disorder counselors.
Responsibilities- Administrative supervision (approve sick and vacation leave requests, complete performance management program documentation, determine staff schedules, and all other duties associated with administrative supervision).
- Clinical supervision (treatment planning, case conceptualization, group and individual treatment interventions, maintaining clinical supervision records, and all other duties associated with clinical supervision).
- Coordinate with outpatient treatment staff in delivery of services.
- Coordinate data entry activities of assessment and treatment staff at the Therapeutic Community.
- Conduct and supervise reasonable data reporting and quality assurance activities to assure quality of services and compliance with Department policies and procedures.
- Provide summary reports as needed to Substance Use Disorder Services and Quality Assurance Officer.
- Develop standardized format for delivery of curriculum, develops core policies and procedures for Therapeutic communities within CDOC.
- Provide group and individual therapy to inmates assigned to the therapeutic community.
- Assist the outpatient treatment staff in delivery of services.
- Document quality/compliance indicators, generating reports and presenting feedback to program and administrative staff.
- Collect and evaluate data on performance, identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations and technical assistance to facility on the improvement of program and agency practices.
- Work closely with the Health Services Administrator and Mental Health Supervisor to ensure an appropriate level of care.
- Assist in the Total Quality Improvement processes within Clinical Services Behavioral Health programs.
- Attend meetings on a monthly basis.
- Prepare therapeutic community topic presentations as a vehicle for all program providers to have input and participation in the therapeutic community implementation activities.
- Participate with Substance Use Disorder Researcher, Quality Assurance Officer, and data management staff to assist in conducting process and outcome evaluation research on specific programs and services.
- Provide training regarding the treatment of inmates assigned to Therapeutic Communities, review of assessments, assisting counselors in development of individual treatment plans, develop treatment program plans to meet specific needs, direct and participate in educational and treatment groups, provide training in the provision of individual counseling as needed, writing assessment, treatment and discharge summaries, and the necessary data reporting for the electronic system that tracks program scheduling.
- Coordinate and direct the identification, assessment, and standardized referral process for offenders within the DOC for assignment to the therapeutic community program.
- Applicant must possess a current, valid Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential issued by the Colorado State Board of Addiction Counselor Examiners.
