HIRING FOR 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR**

RE-1 Valley School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered 3rd‑5th Grade Elementary Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about upper‑elementary learners, strong foundational academics, and preparing students for middle school success.

The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment that promotes academic growth, critical thinking, and positive relationships.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

SALARY RANGE & CATEGORY: $44,000 - $65,853 on Teacher Salary Schedule

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

WORK CALENDAR: 167 days

FTE: 1.0
Full-time with benefits; 4‑day school week (Tuesday - Friday)

Position Summary

The 3rd‑5th Grade Elementary Teacher provides high‑quality instruction aligned to Colorado Academic Standards. The teacher fosters academic achievement, independence, and critical thinking while supporting students' social‑emotional growth during the transition from primary to upper elementary grades.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum
  • Plan and deliver standards‑based instruction in core subject areas
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Implement research‑based literacy and math practices
  • Integrate technology appropriately into instruction
Classroom Environment
  • Establish and maintain a structured and positive learning environment
  • Teach and reinforce classroom expectations and procedures
  • Promote student responsibility and independence
Assessment & Data
  • Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions
  • Participate in MTSS processes and intervention planning
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades
Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with grade‑level teams and support staff
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
  • Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS meetings as needed
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain current licensure
  • Participate in professional development
  • Support building and district improvement goals
  • Follow district policies and procedures
  • Comply with standard practices and ethical conduct toward information and information technology, students, professional colleagues, school officials, parents, and members of the community.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education preferred and will be given first consideration
  • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process (Additional coursework required for eligibility toward a Colorado Teacher License is required or must be completed within an agreed‑upon timeframe)
  • Currently hold a Colorado Substitute Teaching License if Teacher License is not completed
  • Knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards
  • Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
  • Training in structured literacy, MTSS, or early childhood development
  • Bilingual skills preferred

  • Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction
  • Ability to differentiate for varied academic levels
