Position Summary
Walmart is expanding its workforce and looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. If you have experience in this field, bring your skills to our fast‑paced and welcoming environment. The role involves executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. You will operate under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, adhere to established maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs at a time.
- Able to move up and down ladders frequently.
- Comfortable working at heights frequently.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Work in various temperatures.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in one trade: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
- Intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Hourly wage range: $19.00 – $35.00 per hour. Compensation packages may include bonuses, premiums, and performance‑based awards. Additional compensation details will be disclosed during the interview process.
