• Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide customers with accurate portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use all bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens) according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods per temperature logs and follow brewing/baking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipe.
• Package, label, and inventory merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout to locate requested items.
• Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
• Maintain inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Inspect equipment and notify appropriate manager of items needing repair.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report all safety risk, illegal activity, and theft.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Desire to understand food production and basic cooking techniques.

• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.
