Responsibilities- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
- Inform customers of bakery specials.
- Provide customers with accurate portion sizes to prevent shrink.
- Recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Use all bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens) according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods per temperature logs and follow brewing/baking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipe.
- Package, label, and inventory merchandise.
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Understand store layout to locate requested items.
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
- Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
- Maintain inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
- Display a positive attitude.
- Inspect equipment and notify appropriate manager of items needing repair.
- Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
- Report all safety risk, illegal activity, and theft.
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Desire to understand food production and basic cooking techniques.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good basic math skills.
- Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed.
