Job Overview

We are looking for a DAIRY/CLERK to join the Kroger team in Sterling Heights, MI. The role focuses on delivering an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting our department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment that makes customers feel valued and welcome by answering product questions and offering suggestions.
• Gain and maintain product knowledge to provide accurate information and recommendations.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials and provide fresh products as ordered.
• Recommend dairy items to ensure customers receive the items they want.
• Check product quality and review sell‑by dates, taking appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations, maintain proper case and cooler temperatures, and keep temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced environment, manage conflict courteous, act with honesty and integrity, and seek assistance when necessary.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Retail experience.
• Second language speaking, reading, or writing.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
