General SurgeryThe thought of having surgery can be overwhelming. Rest assured, Henry Ford Health has been nationally recognized for the expertise and pioneering efforts of its surgeons since 1920. We offer a complete range of surgical procedures available, from joint replacement, organ transplant, and heart and vascular surgery to cosmetic procedures.
Our surgeons frequently publish research testing the effectiveness of the latest surgical approaches. This commitment to research means patients have access to the most advanced treatments.
Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery OptionsJust because you need to have surgery doesn’t mean you need the scars. Whenever possible, surgery is performed using minimally invasive techniques – operating through tiny openings while viewing the patient’s organs on a TV monitor. These procedures lead to faster and easier recovery times for patients with good clinical outcomes.
In some cases, our surgeons perform intricate procedures using robotic surgery, designed to handle delicate, minimally invasive operations.
Our Dedication to Patient SafetyOur commitment to patient safety is emphasized in surgery, as it is throughout Henry Ford Health. We continually measure our surgical quality against national benchmarks and actively participate with national quality initiatives to ensure the safest and best possible surgical outcomes for patients. We make sure you are prepared and informed about what to expect during and after your procedure.
