Service Manager

Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking a Service Manager. As a Service Manager, you will manage the servicing of company and customer equipment in a timely and effective manner.

• Manage the repair and maintenance of company-owned and customer equipment, including yard organization (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
• Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs and ensure equipment availability as required.
• Order parts to maintain adequate supplies.
• Provide training and assistance to staff mechanics.
• Work with equipment vendors to learn maintenance requirements and capabilities of new inventory.
• Evaluate all equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.
• Document equipment status before and after rental.
• Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
• Promote safety awareness and perform quality control checks.
• Update, maintain and organize equipment service records.
• Create, update, close and bill work orders; file warranty claims in a timely fashion.
• Commission new equipment; order/return parts and manage parts inventory.
• Dispose of solid and hazardous material waste (batteries, used oil & filters, antifreeze, wash sludge).
• Reporting includes: equipment due for service, fleet status, service record reporting, open work order, warranty claim summary, inventory management, parts & merchandise detail, financial/historical trending, service department financial summary, shop foreman performance tool, work order chargeback, halt reports, open PO reports, tech paid hours vs. worked hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

• Valid driver’s license
• Extensive experience in repair and maintenance of self-propelled platforms and lifts
• Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and other supervisory activities
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements
• Clear perspective of maintenance and repair issues in the industry
• Planning and management experience
• Computer literacy
• Reporting experience
• Inventory management experience

The physical demands of this role include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required. Base Pay Range: $64,790.. Starting pay may vary based on factors including position, location, education, training, and/or experience. Sunbelt Rentals provides a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, including:
