Systems Test Engineer

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and technically skilled Systems Test Engineer to join our client’s team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of complex automotive or embedded systems through rigorous testing, data analysis, and effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

This role is on‑site in Sterling Heights, Michigan, working a 9/80 schedule.

Candidates for this role must be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance.

• Test Planning & Management
  • Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases using tools such as JIRA, DOORs, Zephyr, Gherkin or Test Rail.
  • Track defects, manage test case execution, and report on test progress and results.
• Regression Testing & Risk Assessment
  • Apply regression testing principles to optimize test coverage while minimizing effort.
  • Perform risk assessments to prioritize regression tests based on the impact and likelihood of changes.
• Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze large datasets and test logs to identify trends, issues, and root causes.
  • Generate detailed test reports including key metrics such as test coverage, defect density, and pass/fail rates.
• Issue Escalation & Communication
  • Escalate issues promptly, providing clear and factual supporting information to facilitate swift resolution.
  • Collaborate with development, systems engineering, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Technical Expertise
  • Utilize knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN bus, LIN, Ethernet) to validate and troubleshoot system behavior.
  • Apply systems design and testing principles to ensure comprehensive validation of requirements.

• Experience with test management and requirements tools (e.g., JIRA, DOORs, Zephyr, Test Rail)
• Strong understanding of regression testing methodologies and risk-based testing
• Ability to analyze large datasets and test logs for trend and issue identification
• Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN bus, LIN, Ethernet)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including detailed reporting and effective issue escalation
• Knowledge of systems design and systems testing principles

Pay $68 - $80 / hour W2 depending on experience.
