Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position for an Ophthalmic Technician located in Sterling Heights, MI. The Ophthalmic Technician will perform comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories, performing vision tests, measuring eye function, and assisting physicians with diagnostic procedures. Responsibilities will also include maintaining medical instruments, preparing patients for procedures, and providing education on post-treatment care. The role supports ophthalmologists by ensuring smooth patient flow and timely care.
Qualifications- Proficiency in taking medical histories, performing vision screenings, and conducting basic eye function tests.
- Experience with ophthalmic diagnostic procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on ensuring smooth clinic operations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on care instructions and procedures.
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a clinical team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in an ophthalmology clinical setting is advantageous but not required.
