This Skillbridge Internship will focus in our Training Development Area and seeking interns are interested in continuing to train and learn in the Armored Ground Vehicles function.

General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is a proud and an approved DoD Skill Bridge Industry Partner. Skill Bridge is an excellent opportunity as you plan for your life after the military. This program is open to any rank, enlisted or officer. Skill Bridge is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last six months of service for up to 180 days.

You may be eligible to participate in Skill Bridge if you:

• Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
• Obtain written authorization and approval from your unit commander to participate in DoD Skill Bridge Program prior to start of the internship.
• Will receive an honorable discharge.
• Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
• Agree that participation in Skill Bridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.

Our 90 to 180-day internship assignments provide real-world exposure to day-to-day activities in departments and hands-on training opportunities to re-skill and up-skill. Participants are not eligible for compensation from GDLS, as they continue to receive DOD compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Service members receive supervision and mentorship from experienced professionals in respective fields, are included as part of the team within the department.

For this particular Skill Bridge Internship program, participants will receive on the job training and job-shadowing opportunities in our Training Development area.
