The Supply Chain Cost Estimator estimates the cost of fabrication and machining of details for internal KUKA manufacturing as well as commodity items sent to preferred vendors. The estimator must be able to read and interpret design layouts, details and BOMs (Bill of Materials). The estimator needs to have some knowledge of metal fabrication and machining processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews and interprets fabrication and machine details and assembly drawings using Microsoft D365 and Siemens Team Center.
  • Estimates details to be manufactured and inputs data into Microsoft D365
  • Conducts studies for planning and maintains knowledge of market trends related to manufacturing costs.
  • Conducts coordination with KUKA Manufacturing, KUKA build Facilities and internal project teams.
  • Seeks, Establishes, and maintains relationships with Fab and Machine vendors.
  • Generates internal team reports using MS Excel.
  • Solicits quotations for support equipment that may be required as part of KUKA’s proposal. This includes generating inquiry and defining of scope of work for sub suppliers.
  • Maintain knowledge of PC based software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
  • Adheres to the Quality System and participate in continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to understand units of measure and ability to convert one unit of measure to another. Strong basic math skills required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
