Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay Rate: $76–$82/hour
This role focuses on the development and realization of vehicle system architectures for new platform designs. The position utilizes a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to analyze, mature, and document vehicle systems, including subsystem functional behavior.
The engineer will develop Subsystem Design Documents (SSDDs) and support system, subsystem, and component integration across ground vehicle platforms. This includes understanding system interconnects, electrical schematics, and cross-domain interactions (hardware and software).
Key Responsibilities- Develop system and subsystem-level requirements, including decomposition and traceability
- Perform functional analysis using MBSE methodologies
- Create and maintain SysML models to describe platform behaviors
- Develop and support subsystem integration and test plans
- Capture and review system/subsystem connectivity diagrams
- Integrate components into established vehicle architectures
- Support in-lab and on-vehicle integration and verification activities
- Develop and validate system performance requirements
- Support electrical interface definition and schematic development
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Control Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (other technical degrees considered with relevant experience)
- 10+ years of engineering experience (less considered with advanced degree)
- Broad systems engineering knowledge across electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Significant experience with:
- MBSE methodologies
- CAMEO (SysML modeling tool)
- Capital Harness System (CHS) for electrical interface/schematic capture
- Ability to work in integrated vehicle environments
- Experience with system integration and verification activities
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Must meet Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR) for confined vehicle spaces
- Ability to climb on/off and work in/around military vehicles
- On-site presence required (up to 100%)
