Job Title: Structures Engineer – Hull & Turret Systems Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite)
Position Type: Contract Pay Rate: $46.43 – $51.43/hr.
Contract Professionals, Inc. is seeking a Structures Engineer to support the design, development, verification, and implementation of Hull and Turret structural components for military ground vehicles. This mid-level engineering role supports programs ranging from advanced technology demonstrations through full-scale production vehicle development.
The selected candidate will execute the design and release of detailed hardware and welded structural assemblies across multiple vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed hardware concepts using 3D CAD modeling tools
- Design and release structural components and welded assemblies
- Ensure concepts meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements
- Collaborate within cross-functional program teams
- Support drafting teams in maturing concepts to production-ready designs
- Oversee release of hardware models and prints
- Support manufacturing integration onto prototype and production platforms
- Support hardware testing and verification activities
- Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis
- Execute designs from concept through physical hardware integration
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
- 5–7 years of vehicle-level design and release experience
- Experience developing structural hardware and welded assemblies
- Experience executing designs from concept to production hardware
- Experience performing RCCA investigations
- Experience assigning and interpreting GD&T
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling (NX and/or Creo preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work onsite full-time
- Ability to travel as required
- Ability to work up to 10% overtime
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Familiarity with Teamcenter
- Experience supporting military vehicle programs
- Knowledge of welding techniques and structural fabrication requirements
- Onsite role
- Ability to work in office, shop, plant, and vehicle integration environments
