The FPGA Design Engineer is responsible for electronics and FPGA design and implementation supporting advanced video and image processing applications. This role collaborates closely with systems, software, and hardware teams to develop high-performance FPGA solutions used in mission‑critical vehicle and embedded platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineers to develop FPGA designs for video processing, control systems, and system interfaces
Support existing and legacy FPGA designs
Develop and maintain test benches for design verification
Review and decompose requirements into executable work packages
Utilize revision control and issue tracking systems to manage development activities
Implement designs using Xilinx and third‑party IP cores
Develop custom IP using VHDL, Verilog, or HLS (C/C++)
Develop system constraints and perform timing closure
Perform debug through simulation and lab‑based hardware testing
Develop embedded software in bare‑metal, RTOS, and Linux environments
Support integration and troubleshooting of FPGA-based systems
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Experience with Git or similar revision control systems
Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking platforms
Experience with industry‑standard interfaces and protocols (PCIe, USB, Ethernet, DDR, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.)
Experience developing in Linux environments using GCC and Makefiles
Experience with Xilinx toolchain (Vivado, SDK, Vitis)
Experience writing RTOS and Linux device drivers for embedded systems
Strong background in video and image processing FPGA architectures
Experience developing custom IP and optimizing high‑throughput data paths
Strong debugging skills across simulation and hardware environments
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a collaborative engineering team
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
