Senior HIL / SIL Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI, United States
Job Type: Full-Time
Remote Work Options: On-Site
- Develop, integrate, and maintain HIL/SIL test systems, including simulation of synthetic driving environments (terrain, weather, lighting, position, obstacles, etc.).
- Create real‑time physics‑based plant simulations.
- Perform signal conditioning and fault injection.
- Lead test automation and executive functions.
- Manage DAQ for CAN, Ethernet, 1553, RS‑422, SSI, and other signal types.
- Support integration of various third‑party tools.
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Digital and analog circuit design, signal conditioning, filtering, and control logic.
- Serial interface design (RS‑232/485, CAN, MIL‑Std‑1553B, Ethernet, SPI, I2C).
- FPGA development, micro‑controller application design, AC/BC power circuits, and signal analysis.
- Cable/Harness Design
- Wire selection, insulation, shielding, EMI, and connector knowledge.
- Fabrication skills: soldering, crimping, strain relief, and signal propagation.
- Electrical Drawings
- Single‑line diagrams, layout drawings, cable drawings, and schematics.
- Networks
- Ethernet, CAN‑bus, serial, video, and time‑sensitive networking analysis.
- Military Vehicle Knowledge
- Power, mobility, survivability, and lethality systems integration and testing.
- Tools
- MATLAB/Simulink, NI LabVIEW, NI Veristand, Xilinx Vivado, Excel, Visio, Wireshark, Vector CANoe, MOXA Protocol Monitors.
- BS in Electrical Engineering (Computer Science or Computer Engineering minor preferred).
- 10+ years of full‑cycle software design experience in military, civil avionics, or automotive systems.
- Embedded electronics architecture and software testing in relevant applications.
- Experience developing test applications in NI Veristand, Vector CANoe, Simulink, or NI Test Stand.
- Knowledge of signal conditioning, simulation, and data acquisition.
- Familiarity with PCAP, PTP, PRP, MIL‑STD‑882E, ISO 26262, and FACE standards.
- Embedded OS experience (RTOS, partitioned OS). High‑bandwidth bus and network knowledge (AFDX, PCIe, TSN).
- Model‑based design (UML) skills.
