Control Engineer

Epitec is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our automotive client's team. As a Controls Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems.

• This is an ongoing W2 contract
• This is an onsite position in Sterling Heights, MI

• Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem‑solving efforts for equipment performance issues, including root cause analysis and solution validation.
• Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians on controls and automation.
• Integrate controls into IT systems such as FIS, Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS.
• Troubleshoot machinery, robots, automation, and controls to minimize downtime.
• Program and reprogram automation, machinery, material handling, and robots for new installations and engineering changes.
• Maintain program backups and review risk assessments for equipment safety.
• Coordinate and review project installations and monitor equipment cycle times using plant software.

• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or controls.
• Proficiency in Siemens, PLC/CNC programming, and robotics.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and troubleshooting automation systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and problem‑solving tools is a plus.
• Additional safety training and certifications as needed.
