Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer – PGS Worldwide – Sterling Heights, MI
PGS Worldwide is hiring a Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer in Sterling Heights, MI for a 12-month contract-to-hire position. This role supports BAE Systems' Military Combat Vehicle programs
, developing and implementing electrical and electronics design solutions, including wiring harnesses, cabling, and power management systems for next‑generation ground vehicles.
- Proven experience with military ground vehicle electrical systems
, including wiring harness and cabling design - Working knowledge of Visio Technical
, Creo
, or equivalent electrical design tools - Experience developing and verifying system, subsystem, and component‑level specifications
- Knowledge of low‑voltage (28
VDC) power distribution and programmable power controllers - Understanding of vehicle signal management and sensor/transducer I/O integration
- Familiarity with Smart Display Units and military electrical connector standards
- Proficiency with communication protocols:
SAE J1939 CANBus
, MIL-STD-1553
, Ethernet (10/100/Gigabit) - Experience integrating military communications and antenna systems (e.g., BFT, SINCGARS, DAGR, CREW2)
- Strong documentation skills: specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), test reports, and technical data packages
- Knowledge of defense vehicle system architecture
, power distribution
, and control systems integration - Experience preparing cost estimates
, engineering change proposals (ECPs), and change notices - Familiarity with supplier management and monitoring component procurement and manufacturing schedules
- Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to guide drafters and designers
- Prior experience with BAE Systems
, Army TACOM programs
, or similar military ground vehicle platforms
- Specify and design electrical components and systems from requirements to verification through modeling, simulation, or test
- Develop wiring harnesses and cable assemblies optimized for vehicle environments and EMI/EMC compliance
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation
, including design drawings, technical reports, and specifications - Support product and technology upgrades for existing military ground vehicle platforms
- Monitor component fabrication and delivery to ensure project milestones are met
- Provide engineering leadership and guidance for drafting, design, and documentation teams
- Coordinate with internal engineering groups, suppliers, and customers to ensure design integrity and program success
- Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting during prototype and production phases
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university
- 4+ years of experience with a BS degree, or 1+ year of experience with an MS degree in electrical/electronic systems design
