As a Polish and Teardown Technician, you will be responsible for supporting vehicle finishing and customization processes through hands-on teardown, assembly, surface preparation, and installation of protective and cosmetic materials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring vehicles meet quality, appearance, and performance standards before release. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive shop environment.

  • Perform vehicle teardown and reassembly activities to support paint and finishing work on a daily basis.
  • Wet sand and polish vehicle surfaces to achieve required finish quality and appearance standards.
  • Remove and install paint protection film (PPF), vinyl wraps, and window tint with precision and care.
  • Utilize automotive hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and work areas to support efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and quality expectations.
  • Follow established processes, procedures, and safety guidelines within the paint shop.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship and minimize rework.
  • Support overall shop operations as needed to meet business and customer needs.

Automotive Finish Technician

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–1 year of automotive or related hands-on experience preferred.
  • Basic automotive background with familiarity in vehicle teardown and assembly.
  • Experience using automotive hand tools, power tools, and polishing equipment.
  • Self-starter with strong focus, determination, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based shop environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must meet company background check and drug screen requirements.

Automotive Finish Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include:

  • Frequent walking (approximately 50% of the workday).
  • Standing for extended periods (approximately 30%).
  • Lifting automotive components and materials (approximately 10%).
  • Sitting (approximately 10%).
  • Exposure to hot temperatures in the shop environment, particularly during the summer months (up to 90%).
  • Occasional exposure to cold conditions when moving vehicles in colder weather (approximately 10%).
