Overview

Job Description: The Maintenance Team Leader ensures the reliable operation of machinery and equipment while maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance, including adherence to SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements. They oversee maintenance activities, manage budgets, mentor and support technical supervisors and teams, drive continuous improvement efforts, and foster collaboration to uphold operational reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance in a dairy manufacturing facility.

Location: This position is onsite at our Stephenville, TX location. This position is Monday - Friday on day shift 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Relocating candidates (50+ miles) are eligible for $10,000 relocation bonus PLUS a generous relocation package.

What You’ll Do
  • Equipment Reliability:
    Develops and implements asset and infrastructure care strategy ensuring operation at optimal levels of efficiency and reliability.
  • Team Leadership:
    Mentors, supervises, supports, and develops a team of planners, schedulers, supervisors, and engineers, providing guidance and training to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Cost Management:
    Manages maintenance budgets, optimizes spare parts inventory, work & inventory management, driving cost-effective and energy-efficient strategies to maximize equipment lifespan and performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Oversees compliance and collaborates with relevant regulations and standards from OSHA, FDA, USDA, and SQF. Maintains documentation, implements processes, and trains staff to adhere to safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
  • Collaboration:

    Works with operations, quality control, and engineering to prioritize maintenance tasks, minimize production disruptions, and address cross-functional obstacles.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Drives initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, ESG initiatives, and efficiency. Reviews maintenance data, identifies improvement areas, and implements solutions to optimize processes and reduce waste.
  • Compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans:
    With the leadership team, ensures compliance with customer requirements, interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and support groups, and establishes and audits PCPs, CCPs and SOPs to define and monitor processes. Reviews incidents where procedures are not met and determines corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.
What You Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, biochemical, biological, engineering, or related technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years as a technical supervisor, manager, or leader in manufacturing; dairy, food, or beverage preferred.
  • Team leadership experience in technical functions such as Maintenance Team Advisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineer, or similar position.
  • Licenses/Certifications in Maintenance, Reliability, and other related areas are a plus (e.g., CRL, CMRP, CMM).
  • Maintenance or Engineering Leadership Experience.
  • Understanding of world-class maintenance concepts including planning & scheduling, preventative & predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, precision maintenance, and MRO inventory management. Skills in maintenance, reliability, and operation of electronics, PLCs, robotics, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and infrastructure.
