Security Officer

A security officer must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. They will possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping facilities safe and problem-free.

The successful candidate must be fit to work on an Industrial site, work well under pressure, be neat and presentable as well as have the ability to work with people.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
• Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
• Provide assistance to people in need
• Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences

Minimum Requirements

• Grade C - Psira registered and up to date
• Grade 12
• Must be physically fit and healthy
• The candidate must be able to perform well in a high intensity stressful environment
• Good interpersonal skills are important
• The candidate must be able to compile various security related reports
• This is a self-posting position - The candidate must reside or be able to self-post in time to the site in Stellenbosch without any problems for every shift as rostered.
• Suitable candidates must pass all recruitment checks - aptitude test, interviews, background checks etc.
