Responsible for evaluating students’ speech and language skill; providing therapeutic intervention to identified students; consulting with staff and/or parents regarding speech and language functioning in the educational setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional tasks as assigned.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
The role requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Occasional travel to various school locations required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature and noise are relatively nonexistent.
Work is performed in an environment where health hazards may occur.
Occasional need for work outside the normal hours/days.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:
Speech Pathologist (teaching or non-teaching) endorsement.
LICENSES/CREDENTIAL:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
185 days per year.
Four paid personal days.
Yearly vacation days as stated in Policy 5:330.
EVALUATION:
The performance of this role is evaluated according to the Board's policy on evaluating professional personnel.
