About the Position
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Aquatics and Recreation Programs, Senior Recreation and Culture Ambassadors are responsible for facilitating Rec Rentals @ the docks, Empire Sportsplex and aiding with events on the waterway. This position is also responsible for the general supervision and safety of the public at those locations.Duties & Responsibilities
The duties listed are not meant to provide a description of each and every job performed but only those which represent the core functions of the job.-Set up and prepare Rec Rentals @ the docks and Empire Sportsplex before the season begins.
-Supervise, schedule, and train staff throughout the season, ensuring they are well-trained in their duties.
-Lead and manage teams across multiple facilities, including event sites, providing exceptional customer service and addressing patron concerns.
-Handle sales, cash transactions, and perform daily opening/closing procedures.
-Oversee general maintenance, including the cleaning of buildings, equipment, public facilities, and bathrooms.
-Maintain inventory of office supplies and facility equipment and restock as needed.
-Evaluate situations quickly, make sound decisions, and respond effectively to safety concerns or emergencies.
-Ensure the safe loading and unloading of boats while supervising patrons’ activities.
-Administer first aid according to City of Welland procedures.
-Collaborate with senior lifeguards to ensure admissions positions are staffed during open swim hours.
-Document and report any issues or concerns to the Supervisor of Aquatics and Recreation Programs.
-Perform other related administrative and operational tasks as assigned.

What you need to Succeed...
-Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification.-Valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card.
-Valid G-Class Driver’s License.
-High Five:
Principles of Healthy Childhood Development certification is considered an asset
-Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check as per City policy
-Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
