Team Lead – Root Retail Store
Join Roots as a Team Lead. This role links the leadership team and sales associates, assisting in operational functions of the store, motivating the team to exceed sales goals, and modeling exceptional customer service. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Team Lead supports and covers for the Store and Assistant Managers in their absence.
Responsibilities- Lead the team, establish expected selling and customer‑service behaviors to promote a positive in‑store experience.
- Manage POS operations, daily banking procedures, and timely reporting.
- Collaborate with store management to execute action plans that optimize results and ensure effective execution of all operational activities.
- Assist with associate onboarding and training; coach associates on customer‑service fundamentals and provide positive feedback.
- Resolve customer‑service matters, oversee tasks delegation for efficient store operations, and communicate performance feedback to management.
- Ensure scheduled breaks/meal periods are adhered to and all company policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and inventory duties as directed.
- 1+ years related experience in a retail apparel environment (luxury retail experience is a plus).
- Proven ability to successfully lead a sales team and be viewed as a leader among peers.
- Strong organization and problem‑solving skills.
- Passion for upholding an exceptional customer experience.
- Collaborative mindset with self‑motivation.
- Availability for varied weekly shifts, including weekends, closing and holidays.
- Build brand loyalty through excellent product knowledge and a customer‑obsessed selling culture.
- Contribute ideas and solutions to increase productivity and improve store operations.
- Assist management in new associate onboarding and training.
- Coaching associates on customer service fundamentals with positive feedback.
