Our Staunton, VA facility is looking for a Press Operator for our Printing department. This position will be responsible for leading the operation of the press, which would include overall start-up, shut-down and day-to-day procedures and maintenance of the printing press, while operating in a safe, efficient and accurate manner.
Primary Responsibilities- Responsible for a wide variety of production related tasks
- Verifies and follows production schedules, job specifications and instructions
- Responsible for make-ready, set up and operation of press
- Follows quality control procedures to obtain high quality and ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitors all printing and press related processes and makes necessary adjustments
- Performs basic troubleshooting
- Completes job logs, production and quality paperwork
- Responsible for all cleaning, preventative maintenance of presses
- Provides direction, training, guidance to crew members
- Follows all company safety requirements
- Comply with all company rules and regulations
- Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the company
- Proficient in reading, writing and speaking to receive and give directions and instructions
- Perform mathematical functions as related to press operations
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve printing problems
- Enhanced listening skills and ability to follow directions
- Safely perform all tasks on and around press equipment
- Knowledge of printing processes
- Mechanical aptitude
- Understands and operates Color Management System
- Understands and operates Quality Management System
- Understands and operates Press Console Functions
- Understands all technical functions of printing press
