Western State Hospital is seeking a full‑time Housekeeping Worker to provide a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning bathrooms, shower rooms, and other patient care areas daily, including replenishing paper products and removing trash.
• Wiping down mirrors, floors, windows, doors, walls, and ceilings as needed.
• Dust mopping and wet mopping floors daily; buffing weekly; and finishing floors as required.
• Wiping down tables, chairs, windows, doors, and fixtures.
• Conducting routine sanitization of high‑traffic areas to maintain cleanliness standards.

• Shift differential on weekends.
• Weekend/Holiday first shift (7:00 a‑m – 3:30 p‑m) pays $1.10/hr.

• General knowledge and skills in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishings, and operating housekeeping equipment.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, lift heavy objects, stand for prolonged periods, walk on varied surfaces, climb ladders, work on knees, and operate in different conditions.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in housekeeping.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s license.
• Bilingual ability (preferred).
• Veteran or veteran spouse status.
