Long-Term Contract Role

Fully on-site in Staunton, VA (Could potentially look at someone in Richmond area that would be open to going to Staunton a couple days a week)

• Strong work ethic, reliable, wants to learn - could take a high-level desktop resource if they have exposure with the following:
• Cisco routing/switching (CCNA or network+ could suffice)
• Network monitoring exposure - troubleshooting outages, etc

• 100% ON-SITE work, working with end users within the assigned district
• Rotating on-call schedule

Requires experience, creativity and multi-tasking. Network Administrator to independently and collaboratively achieve department service and support objectives for the Transportation Operations Center.

5-8 years of experience in the field of the subject matter area

• Respond to network support requests.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers of varying levels of technical expertise.
• Respond to all break/fix requests associated with network resources.
• Assist with configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure.
• Maintain up-to-date project and architecture documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory and maintenance records.
• Monitor network resources for faults and traffic anomalies.
• Resolve connection issues between users and resources.
• Maintain detailed change history of network changes.
• Support ITS Field Maintenance with communications' implementation and troubleshooting.
• Support team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses.
• Support team efforts for threat hunting and mitigation.
• Manage time and resource constraints.
• Support IPsec Implementation.

The Network Administrator installs, configures, and supports an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintains network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure availability to all users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.

Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of a local area network or wide area network. Maintain the network's physical and logical structures, including network connections. Maintain network support software, analyze user support statistics, and recommend appropriate measures. Install, test, and maintain network hardware and software. Prepare and analyze statistics on network utilization and availability. Prepare training courses and provide user support and training in the use of available hardware, software, and utilities.

Perform tuning and capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of network resources.

• 5 Years experience with Cisco products – CCNA or equivalent preferred
• 3 Years experience with Cisco routing and switching
• 5 Years experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc)
• 5 Years experience with Active Directory Administration
• 3 Years experience with IPSec implementation and troubleshooting
• 2 Years experience with Video Management Systems
• 3 Years experience with VMWare / Vsphere
• 5 Years experience with VLAN management
• 3 Years experience with firewall administration
• 3 Years experience with VPN & remote access technologies
• 3 Years experience with authentication (Cisco ISE, Radius, TACACS, etc)
• 2 Years experience with network monitoring
• Junior to Mid Level experience level

Contract position based out of Staunton, VA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
