GRADUATE SURVEYOR (SIT)
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our team. This position will assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, and adherence to specific state statutes. The position works under the responsible charge of a Professional Land Surveyor.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist Project Surveyors and Project Leads with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, adherence to specific state statutes, and other survey-related responsibilities.
- Work with the Professional Land Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
- Evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states alongside Professional Land Surveyors.
- Occasionally travel for courthouse research and field crew support.
- Coordinate with field crews and office staff.
- Perform self and peer review QA/QC checks.
- Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
- Ensure division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
- Lead by example—demonstrate solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Exercise independent judgment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Surveyor-in-Training certification.
- Minimum two-year Surveying degree required; four-year degree preferred.
- Three or more years of land survey field experience preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills essential.
