Overview
The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for assisting in the direct delivery of primary health care support and patient care management under the direction and supervision of the Physician. Duties include assisting the physician in the implementation of nursing care as directed, handling all aspects of the medical office, and may include responsibilities in the front office and clinical areas. Has full access to patient health information.

ResponsibilitiesAs directed by the Physician, assist in the direct delivery of primary health care support and patient care management. Support the implementation of nursing care, perform tasks across the medical office, and support front office and clinical operations as needed. Access to patient health information.
Qualifications- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Must be a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or have successfully completed the Assessment-based Recognition in Order Entry (A
-OE) program through the American Association of Medical Assistants. If not registered/certified, must complete the A
-OE program upon hire. Certifications/registrations/recognition must be current and updated before expiration date. - Working knowledge of all aspects of the medical practice and medical care including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures; equipment and instruments; safety hazards and precautions. Training in venipuncture and the ability to perform venipuncture accurately are preferred.
- Clerical experience including scheduling, payments, billing/coding, medical records, and a working knowledge of all aspects of medical office equipment. Excellent computer skills including knowledge of business software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail, multi-task, and provide excellent customer service.
- Current CPR certification or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
