Medical Laboratory Technician; MLT

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Full Time

Position at Iredell Health System. Performs a variety of laboratory tests in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Utilizes professional judgment and clinical laboratory science techniques, including evaluation of quality control data, to produce reliable results that aid clinician diagnosis and treatment.

Has full access to patient health information; may access medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) related to job responsibilities.

Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM.

• Medical Technologist:
  Must have at least sixty semester hours of college with training in a certified Medical Technology training program. Must be currently registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
• Medical Laboratory Technician:
  Must have an associate’s degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and be registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods of time; must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
