Assistant Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller/Senior Accountant with strong accounting expertise and a solid foundation in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our team. This hybrid role blends core accounting responsibilities with analytical support for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensures financial accuracy, and contributes insights that support strategic decision-making.

• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable related to operations, sponsor ships, and vendor contracts
• Support internal controls and coordinate with external auditors

• Assist with annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Analyze actuals vs. budget and provide variance explanations to leadership
• Build financial models to evaluate sponsorship ROI, event profitability, and operational efficiency
• Partner cross-functionally to align financial planning with operational objectives

• Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reporting with clear, actionable insights
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to track performance and cost management
• Provide ad hoc analysis to support leadership and strategic initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to FP&A or financial analysis
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
