Job Summary
Lead, motivate, monitor and oversee team of electricians to ensure quality work. Provide technical guidance regarding the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Establish performance/safety standards and procedures for the electrical team while ensuring compliance with state laws, electrical codes, safety, and environmental standards
- Supervise installation and maintenance of electrical systems for campus buildings, equipment, electrical fixtures, and lighting
- Perform on-the-job inspections to ensure work meets all compliance standards
- Maintain inventory to eliminate downtime in production
- Work with campus engineers to ensure electrical blueprints are circuited correctly and power is available at each location
- Locate high voltage duct bank, GTE underground cables, computer cables, street light circuits, and secondary cables for outside contractors
- Responsible for setting up sound systems on campus for special events; provide electrical power access as necessary
- Participate in hiring, orientation, training, and performance evaluation of electrical team employ
- Develop and/or review training programs to keep employees abreast of the latest technical information
- Maintain, repair and clean tools, equipment, assigned service vehicle, and work areas
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent post-secondary education/formal technical training
Required Experience
- Five (5) or more years of related work experience
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
Proposed Salary
$22.36 - $27.95 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

- Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
- Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
- Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
- Ability to Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans; work with power tools; and Identify and differentiate between colors
KNOWLEDGE
- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
- Familiarity with hazardous classifications
- Knowledgeable about electrical systems, power distribution, control circuits, transformers, scale calibrations, and programmable logic controllers
SKILLS
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
- Effective problem-solving, prioritization, leadership, detail orientation, and mathematical skills
