Job SummaryThe LANDTIE Research Lab at Georgia Southern University is seeking a highly motivated research scholar (Postdoc Fellow) to contribute to cutting‑edge research in advanced NDE, manufacturing methods, and material characterization. The successful candidate will work on projects related to NDE, robotics, AL/ML and lead activities on tier‑1 journal publications and external proposal development for a variety of agencies and sponsors.
Employment is contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities- Conduct original research in advanced NDE, SHM and smart manufacturing systems
- Design and execute experiments involving ultrasonic, electromagnetic, and other NDE techniques
- Develop and apply computational models (e.g. FEM and/or wave propagation models) for material characterization
- Integrate AL/ML and robotics into NDE and manufacturing processes for automation and data‑driven insights
- Develop and publish high‑tier journal papers and competitive proposals
- PhD in engineering or science (e.g. Physics, etc.) majors with a focus on NDE, advanced manufacturing, sensing, robotics, or AI/ML
- Academic or professional experience involving interdisciplinary research, including theoretical modeling and experimental validation
Preferred Experience
- Experience in project and experimental design, planning and proposal development is preferred
Annual Salary Amount: $54,000
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
Employment in this position is limited to a period of up to 6/30/2026.
