RN - Nursery

Nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Call is required, with 2 x 12-hour shifts per 6-week schedule, including at least one weekend shift.

The Registered Nurse in the nursery is accountable for providing care to Newborn Nursery patients during the immediate neonatal phase. The RN will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. This role requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership to anticipate and plan for the safe delivery of care.

• Provide care to well couplets and GYN patients.
• Float to nursery for well baby holds and function as a transition nurse.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities in accordance with the experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OB RN.
• At least 2 previous travel assignments completed successfully.
• BLS and NRP certification required.
• STABLE, CPN, and Cerner experience preferred.
